Civic/Charity - Each year we raise funds to donate to a local charity. Some past recipients are: PROP (People Reaching Out to Other People) - a regional food bank based in Eden Prairie; Meals on Wheels; Breast Cancer Research; Carver-Scott Humane Society; and Cornerstone (a battered women's shelter).

Guthrie Theater Matinee - World-renowned for employing stars-in-the-making, the Guthrie Theater performs original works and old standbys (with a twist).  To see the current plays, click Guthrie Theater.  Subscription tickets are purchased in late April for the following season.  Single tickets may also be available and substitutes are occasionally needed.  The dates vary but are always on a Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.  The Guthrie Theater is located in downtown Minneapolis, some participants carpool and others take the bus. 

Happy Hour - Every other month, on the second Thursday we get together at a member's house for Happy Hour. Two members work together to serve as hostesses at each event. We share great fun, so come on and join us in a toast! 

Knit and Crochet - Learn to knit or crochet with this newly formed group. Even if you are experienced, come join us for some fun! This group meets each month on the second Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

On the Road with Lynne - Join our member, Lynne,  to see new places (mainly each summer).  If there is some place you'd like to go that's within a reasonable drive, just let Lynne know!  For this mainly spur-of-the-moment event, Lynne leaves in the morning around 8:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 4:30 p.m. 

Social Events - Husbands, friends and out-of-town guests are invited to participate in two activities or social events before membership is required. The more the merrier! Walking Group - Start walking again this fall on Monday mornings. Meet some new friends at Staring Lake in Eden Prairie for a beautiful walk around the lake starting at 9:00 a.m.

Additional Groups - Members are encouraged to form additional activity groups in areas of interest.

Our Board Meetings are open to all members.  They are held on the first Tuesday of each month throughout the year except in June and July. The meetings take place at:

Park in the front of the church and enter through Door #3.  Proceed down the hall to the Chief Joseph Room. 

Welcome Coffee

Members and prospective members are encouraged to attend the Coffees. After some announcements, members introduce themselves and share Newcomer experiences. Prospective members are invited to introduce themselves as well.  This is a wonderful opportunity for prospective members to get to know us and ask questions.   There is absolutely no pressure to join the club.

The Coffees are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at THE DUNN BROTHERS COFFEE shop in Eden Prairie from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  We invite you to come and get to know us.  See us when you arrive and we'll buy your first cup of coffee.  Just look for the "Newcomers" sign.  There is no need to RSVP.  Very often some members go out to lunch following the Coffee and everyone is invited to join in!

Other Activities

Book Club - Each month on the third Wednesday at noon a current book or a timeless classic is discussed at members' homes.  Interesting conversations are sure to take place!

Chick Flicks - On the first Wednesday of each month a group meets for lunch and a movie.  Attendees do not have to see the same movie. You can just join the group for lunch if you prefer. Meeting times and theater locations vary. This activity is always a treat!
